Einkaufsbahnhof Hannover Hbf

Lovely station. Lots of shops.

It is, unquestionable, practical. Only place where you can find supermarket open on Sunday (also many other stores). However it is not beautiful, specially at night. It also full of people. And it is safe, even if you dont feel. safe.

Worst hbf I have been to in Germany. Signs do not correspond to where things actually are. The luggage lock place was on the opposite side of the station to where the signs were leading. We had 20 minute connection to lock up our luggage (which is very doable in such a medium-small sized station such as this one) and catch the next train and we missed it because there signs pointed to the front of the station when the place was on the opposite end. Asked multiple workers who gave unclear directions until one worker finally said near Burger King on the opposite side of the station. As we ran there, we noticed it is outside the station in a sketchy place with hundreds of cigarette butts littered all over the ground and people hanging out, and by the time we locked up, we just missed our connection. Not only that, but tried quite a few restaurants (as we had to wait an hour for the next train) and all the food was pretty terrible and every restaurant seemed to be out of literally everything we initially wanted to order. All in all a terrible experience. Please update your signs and make sure they actually correlate where things are.

Consider the railway station as a shopping mall: it provides the travellers with a lot of shops providing all kinds of food, souvenirs, books, etc. It transforms the waiting into a positive experience. Very well done! I would like to see more stations like this one.

The Hannover Station is considered to be one of the best and busiest stations in Germany. In its vicinity you can find many shops and restaurants of all kinds. Be sure to take care of your belongings during busy peak hours. There are restaurants out there that are open and serve you 24hrs, so definitely as long as you have the means to afford, you won’t die of hunger, especially when your are waiting out there for the train to come by. There is also a decent and well maintained restrooms that are very essential in times of a nature’s call or an emergency. Overall it’s a good place to spend some great and valuable time with your friends and family.

Hannover is not one of the great cities, still it has much to offer. Museums and the Zoo, makes it a town to visit.

Not enough seating, but bright, safe (ok, middle of the day) and easy to navigate
